How to choose an LED strip

An LED strip is selected for the task by several parameters. They define brightness, safety and price:

• Voltage. 12V strip for furniture, accent lighting and short runs. 24V strip for long lines without brightness drop. 220V strip for outdoors and large perimeters without a power supply.
• Light type. Single-colour white, RGB with colour control or the even dot-free light of a COB strip.
• Moisture protection. IP20 for dry rooms, IP65 for kitchen and bathroom, IP67–IP68 for outdoors, pool and sauna.
• LED density and power. The more LEDs per metre, the brighter and more uniform the light.

Which LED strip to choose: 12V or 24V?

12V suits short runs up to 5 metres: furniture, mirrors, accent lighting. 24V holds brightness on long lines over 5 metres and runs cooler. For outdoors without a power supply, 220V is used.

Which strip is needed for kitchen and bathroom?

For wet areas choose a protection class from IP65. IP65 is enough for the kitchen work area; for open outdoor areas and pools use IP67–IP68.

How to choose a power supply for the strip?

Multiply the strip power per metre by the length and add a 20% reserve. The power supply voltage must match the strip, 12V or 24V. An ARTLED manager will help with the calculation.

Can I buy a strip of the exact length?

Yes, the strip is cut by its cut interval and sold by the metre. You order exactly as many metres as you need.

What warranty applies to LED strips?

COLORS and RISHANG products carry up to 5 years warranty, provided correct connection and a suitable power supply.
