LED strips and modules are popular and effective light sources used in various fields. Specific article numbers are used to determine the characteristics and types of products. In this article we will look at the structure of these articles, which allows us to determine the characteristics of LED strips and modules.

LED strips are designated by articles in the RXXXXXX format. Let's look at how to interpret these articles:

  • The first letter "R" indicates the type of product, namely LED strips. But it can also occur with additional letters that indicate features:
  1. RE/RL/RN/RF - economical belt options from the Rishang plant;
  2. RZ - aluminum-based tapes;
  3. RD - new premium series;
  4. RJ - a new line of tapes with the ability to connect in series up to 50 meters;
  5. RX - flexible LED neon with IP66 protection.
  • The second digit in the article indicates the degree of moisture protection:
  1. 0 - without moisture protection (IP33),

  2. 6 - moisture protection (IP65);

  3. 8 - moisture protection (IP64);

  4. 3 - moisture protection (IP67);

  5. A - high moisture protection (IP68).

  • The third digit represents the width of the LED strip:
  1. 8 - tape 8 mm wide;
  2. 0 - tape 10 mm thick;
  3. 3 - tape 13 mm thick;
  4. B - 16 mm wide tape.
  • The fourth and fifth digits indicate the number of LED crystals per meter, where 30 means 30 pieces per meter, 60 means 60 pieces per meter, C0 means 120 pieces per meter, C8 means 128 pieces per meter, and so on.

  • The sixth and seventh digits indicate the type of LED crystals:

  1. BA - SMD 3528
  2. AA - SMD 5050,
  3. AQ - SMD 5050 RGB
  4. EB - SMD 5074
  5. CA, CD - SMD 5630 for 12 and 24V respectively
  6. GD - SMD 3014
  7. TA-C - single-chip SMD 2835 at 12V with a current of 20 mA
  8. TA-B - single-chip SMD 2835 at 12V with a current of 30 mA (used in RN economy class tapes)
  9. TA-A - two-chip SMD 2835 at 12V with a current of 60 mA
  10. TD - SMD 2835 at 24V
  11. DB - SMD 3535
  12. XBB - SMD 3535 Cree

For example:

  1. R08COBA designates an 8mm wide LED strip with low moisture protection (IP33) containing 120 SMD 3528 crystals per meter.
  2. R8030AQ is a 10 mm wide LED strip with good moisture protection (IP64), containing 30 SMD 5050 RGB crystals per meter.
  3. R0B96CD designates a 16 mm wide LED strip with low moisture protection (IP33), containing 96 SMD 5630 crystals per meter.

As for LED modules, their article numbers are in the MXXXXX format. These part numbers indicate the type of module, the number of crystals on the module, the type of crystal and the color.
